Brooklyn is the hometown of Dorothy and according to Dorothy, it was a diverse area with lots to offer. Dorothy often talks about the fights between the Irish and the Italians when she would walk home from school in the afternoons. According to her, the Irish lived on one side of her street and the Italians on the other and they used to take turns beating each other up. Dorothy loved her hometown and took any chance she had to go back and visit.
